Topping has released its brand new all-in-one Class D power amplifier, the Topping MX5. We called it all-in-one as the MX5 features everything we might need in a desktop stack. It has a premium ESS Sabre DAC for audio decoding, NFCA Headphone AMP circuit for headphone outputs, Merus Class D power amp chipset for powering HiFi speaker systems. This single device can become your point of HiFi audio with your systems. Topping MX5 is a successor to the highly-acclaimed MX3 system upgrading the core and chipsets with top-quality components. Topping has priced the MX5 quite attractively at just 299$.

Topping MX5-1

MX5 has a high-performance ESS Sabre DAC chipset that provides crisp high-resolution audio signal decoding with the device. It is supported by a premium XMOS USB processor providing the users support for 32-Bit/384kHz PCM as well as native DSD256 decoding. It decodes Hi-Res audio signals with great precision delivering quality performance with lower distortion and noise ratings.

Topping MX5-2

Topping has featured Infineon’s Merus Class D power amplifier chipset in the MX5. It has a powerful output rating of 70Wx2 @ 4Ω of load(THD+N 10%). At high-quality THD+N 1%, the MX5 outputs up to 55Wx2 clean power(4Ω). At 8Ω load, the Topping MX5 outputs up to 42Wx2(10% THD+N), and 35Wx2(1% THD+N). All these numbers are adequate enough to power most speakers in the market. MX5 is not just your speaker amp, it also features an upgraded NFCA headphone amplifier circuit. The device achieves a powerful 1600mW output power at 32Ω of load driving your headphones with ease.

Topping MX5-3

Topping MX5 houses multiple digital and analog input/output options including USB, Coaxial, Optical, Bluetooth, RCA, and TRS input options. It supports automatic on/off across all the input options. When a valid signal is detected the MX5 gets automatically turned on. When the valid signal is lost the device automatically goes into the Standby mode(within a desired amount of time). Topping MX5 has an adjustable EQ option that allows the users to adjust the bass and treble performance within a range of -10dB to +10dB.
