Tempotec has released two new portable USB DAC/AMPs, the all-new Sonata HD V and the Sonata HD III. Tempotec has been a successful brand when it comes to high-performing USB DAC/AMPs. They have released several models from the Sonata HD series, each delivering quality performance while being easy on the pocket. The latest release from Tempotec, the Sonata HD V is an MQA dongle DAC that brings full MQA decoding to your smartphone at a budget price point. The accompanying release, the Sonata HD III is an upgrade to the award-winning Sonata HD II with improved DAC architecture. Both the DAC’s have a 3.5mm headphone output port with adequate power ratings to drive most IEMs in the market without any trouble. Tempotec has priced both the models quite attractively, the Sonata HD V is priced at 59.99$ and the Sonata HD III at 45.90$.

As a successor to the widely-acclaimed HD II USB DAC/AMP, Tempotec has upgraded the DAC chipset on the Sonata HD III to provide better sound performance. It now houses an ES9218 DAC chip that helps it achieve ultra-low SNR ratings of as low as -120dB. It has an Exclusive mode for the HiBy Music application as well as Windows ASIO driver support. Tempotec Sonata HD III features hardware volume control allowing the users to easily adjust the volume in the output signal. Tempotec Sonata HD III provides exceptional performance at a budget price. It has an output power rating of up to 70mW@32Ω adequate enough to power most IEMs in the market without any trouble. Tempotec Sonata HD III is a Hi-Res certified device being launched officially for just 45.90$.

It houses dual ES9219 DAC chips from ESS Sabre Technologies adjusted to achieve best-in-class audio decoding performance. Sonata HD V achieves low SNR and THD+N ratings, keeping the output clean and distortion-free. The Sonata HD V supports high-res 32-Bit/384kHz PCM as well as native DSD256 decoding, bringing full Hi-Res audio player features to your smartphones. It features an RGB indicator light that glows in different colors based on the active file bitrate. The Sonata HD V houses a 3.5mm single-ended output port that has an output power rating of up to 145mW@16Ω of load. At 32Ω, the Sonata HD V achieves up to 95mW of output power.
