Shanling is a highly active brand in the audiophile community. They are regularly releasing new products and give their continuous support to most of their products. Today, Shanling has dropped the latest firmware update to its famous UA2 Portable USB DAC/AMP. This latest update updates the firmware of the UA2 to V1.92.12. It brings a few changes related to the power consumption of the UA2 reducing its power draw from the connected source device. The last update on the Shanling UA2 was released back in March 2022. UA2 is a famous Portable USB DAC/AMP from Shanling’s famous “UA” series of Portable USB DAC/AMPs. It’s usually counted as one of the best portable USB DAC/AMPs for its price segment. Here’s your guide on how to update your Shanling UA2.

How to update Shanling UA2 to Firmware V1.92.12:-

>Download the upgrade firmware zip file from Shanling’s website here. (Google drive link for direct firmware update).

>Connect the UA2 to your windows computer. (Connect some HP/IEM to the UA2, otherwise upgrade tool won’t recognize the device).

>Extract the downloaded zip file from Google drive.

>Do not rename anything from the extracted folder.

>Launch the “Shanling USB Audio Drivers Setup.exe” to install the UA2 USB driver.

>Launch the “Shanling UA2 Update Tool.exe”.

>Wait till the Update App detects the UA2 and the update “.hex” file. When everything is ready, the update tool will show a green mark. (If it doesn’t show a green mark, Please check that USB Drivers for UA2 are installed properly, it is connected, and the “Shanling_UA2.hex” file is in the same folder as the update tool.

>Now the software will update the Shanling UA2. Kindly wait till this process is completed.

>After completion, you can simply disconnect the UA2 from your PC and start using it with any smartphone or device you want.
