S.M.S.L has announced its latest flagship-grade desktop DAC, the brand new S.M.S.L SU-9n. It is actually the sub-flagship in S.M.S.L’s lineup right under the flagship SU-9. SU-9 was originally released earlier this year with top-tier features such as MQA decoding, premium Sabre DAC, and much more. S.M.S.L has stripped down some of the features from it and here we are with the latest SU-9n. The SU-9n still features the flagship ES9038Pro DAC chip that delivers impressive performance. It supports high-resolution 32-Bit PCM and native DSD512 decoding but the MQA decoding is stripped down from the SU-9n. As for other features trimmed down from the flagship SU-9, the SU-9n doesn’t have UAT Wireless codec support, and the USB processor has been downgraded from XMOS XU216 to XMOS XU208. S.M.S.L SU-9n is priced attractively at just 399.99$.

S.M.S.L SU9n-1

SU-9n features a high-performance ES9311 power supply chip to support the flagship Sabre DAC chipset. It allows the DAC to achieve lower distortion and higher SNR ratings ensuring quality performance. SU-9n has an impressively low THD+N rating of just 0.00006% while the SU-9 had the THD+N of 0.00008%. The flagship ES9038Pro DAC is paired with XMOS XU208 USB chip that allows for high-resolution 32-Bit/768kHz PCM decoding. It also supports native DSD512 decoding with USB connection.

S.M.S.L SU9n-2

S.M.S.L has adopted a new CK-02 Clock Processing Circuit with ultra-low phase noise. SU-9n achieves ultra-low clock jitter, great precision, and clarity in the output signal. Other than this other components on the audio motherboard are all audiophile-grade premium components such as OPA1612 OPAMPs, discrete component low noise linear power supply, and more.

S.M.S.L SU9n-3

S.M.S.L SU-9n supports signal input via wireless Bluetooth transmission. It features Qualcomm’s latest Bluetooth processor for a stable, lag-free Bluetooth connection with high-res codecs. The SU-9n supports wireless transmission with up to 24-Bit/96kHz bitrate with LDAC codec. Other supported codecs include AptX HD, AptX, SBC, and AAC.
