Kinera reveals its flagship tribrid, named after the Norse God Of light & joy.

Kinera Baldr-7

Kinera showed us two very beautiful looking pair of in-ear monitors in the last few weeks. They are called Kinera Freya, and Kinera Baldr both named after the gods from the Norse Mythology. The Freya was released earlier in June and has accumulated mostly positive reviews since its release. The Baldr is the latest flagship from the brand featuring premium oakwood ear shells. It houses a flagship hybrid driver setup. It is equipped with four Sonion EST drivers, two Knowles BA drivers, and one 7mm Kinera self-developed micro dynamic driver on each side. Driver Configuration and Initial Sound Impressions

Kinera Baldr-2

The Kinera Baldr is equipped with a powerful seven driver hybrid setup on each side. It consists of four EST drivers, two BA drivers, and one DD driver unit. The result is powerful, well-detailed sound output. It outputs impactful deep bass, crisp natural vocals, and well-extended treble portion.

The more the merrier?

Usually, the latest flagship IEM’s are equipped with one or two EST driver in a hybrid setup. But here the Kinera has equipped the Baldr with four Sonion EST drivers. It reproduces brilliant details and provides great extensions in the treble portion in our brief listening. We were specifically impressed by the sheer resolution and imaging capabilities. We will bring an in depth review soon.

Oakwood Shells

Kinera Baldr-3

Earpieces in Kinera Baldr are made up of high-quality strong Oakwood material. Kinera touts that they are made with 16 special processes providing a beautiful finish to them. They have a strong build quality that doesn’t deform, crack, or discolor. Each unit carries the grainy unique Oakwood texture on the faceplate.

Gold-Plated Cable

Kinera Baldr-6

The Baldr comes bundled with a premium gold-plated single-crystal copper cable with universal 0.78mm two-pin connectors. This is quite unique for a stock cable and a pleasant surprise. Kinera said that it is made up of four strands with a total of 196 cores. The outer skin on the cable is soft and transparent. It has a beautiful gold luster finish. The package also includes a 4.4mm connector cable made with the same cable material. Termination plugs are made up of gold-plated copper as well.

The Kinera Baldr seems to be a worthy flagship with an outstanding build and powerful driver setup. It looks unique and beautiful with premium Oakwood ear shells. I have high hopes with the sonic performance with this pair. It is now available to buy from online portals like Hifigo, Aliexpress among other retailers.
