Hidizs Mermaid MM2 Dual Driver Hybrid IEMs
Hidizs has released a new pair of in-ear monitors, the Hidizs Mermaid MM2. MM2 adopts a dual-driver hybrid configuration tuned to deliver an authentic Hi-Res audio experience. The pair houses a newly-developed 6mm low-voltage Magneto-Static Balanced Membrane driver combined with a 10.2mm PEK diaphragm dynamic driver unit. It comes with an adjustable tuning feature with the help of three sets of tuning valves included in the package. Hidizs Mermaid MM2 has got a price tag of 79$. It’s a highly-competitive price point where it will face well-established products such as the Moondrop Aria, IKKO OH2, and many more famous brands. But looking at the Hidizs’s history of designing budget audio gears, we are having good thoughts for the Mermaid MM2.
The 6mm magneto-static BM driver used here in the Mermaid MM2 is developed by Hidizs and Korea BSE combinely. It uses a lightweight and ultra-thin diaphragm that helps in achieving crisp high-frequency performance. Just following the brand’s words here, the Hidizs Mermaid MM2 has a lively and energetic high-frequency response all thanks to this Magneto-Static driver.
The dynamic driver here has got PEK macromolecule polymer diaphragm coil. It handles the bass-response and the mid-range with the pair. Vocals and bass response on the Mermaid MM2 are said to be rich and fast-paced. With the help of three tuning valves, Hidizs Mermaid MM2 also has adjustable tuning options for the benefit of its users. One set of tuning valves here is for Treble enhancement, one for bass enhancement, and the last one has a balanced profile.
The beautiful cavities in Mermaid MM2 are made up of eco-friendly resin material. They are lightweight and are very comfy to wear for long hours. The cavities have exquisite-looking faceplates with a Lozenge-cut design, demonstrating the charm of three-dimensional geometry. MM2 ear shells look simply magnificent.
Hidizs packs the MM2 with a high-quality quad-core cable. The cable has a mixed configuration with two cores of high-purity silver wires and two cores of OFC wires. It has 2-pin connectors and a 3.5mm gold-plated termination plug. With its mixed-braided build structure, the MM2 gets an immersive sound experience with low distortion in the signal transmission.
