Cayin has finally launched the N8ii, an incredibly awesome flagship digital audio player. Coming as a successor to the award-winning N8 digital audio player, the N8ii brings improvements in every single department over its predecessor. We have got an open Android OS, fully discrete balanced tube headphone amplification using dual tubes, the latest-gen ROHM Dual DAC chipset, a bright and colorful 5″ OLED display, and many more advanced features with the latest N8ii. Cayin actually released a piece of information regarding the N8ii in works last year too, where they informed the world about the expected release of the same in the first quarter of 2022, and here we are with the official release of Cayin N8ii. Cayin N8ii is up for grabs for 3,499$.

Cayin N8ii-1

Initially, the N8ii was designed with AKM AK4499 DAC chips. But due to the lack of chips in the industry, Cayin switched the development to the latest DAC chips from ROHM. The N8ii now has dual ROHM BD34301 DAC chips that are arranged in a balanced manner(one for each channel). It’s a recently launched 32-Bit Stereo decoding chip that is capable of providing Hi-Res signal decoding with ultra-low distortion in the output signal.

Cayin N8ii-2

The primary point of attraction on the N8ii, its major upgrade over its predecessor would be the balanced tube headphone amplification. Cayin has designed the device with two KORG Nutube 6P1 tubes, each for each channel(Left and Right). While most of the portable digital audio players with Tube amplification released so far only featured tube amplification on single-ended connections, the latest N8ii supports the same on both single-ended as well as balanced headphone output ports (4.4mm in N8ii). Cayin has designed the N8ii with a fully discrete audio circuit ensuring the best performance. It has dual operational modes, Class A and Class AB. Please note that the high-power P+ gain level is only available on Class AB amplification while using the tube amplification mode.

Cayin N8ii-3

N8ii has got Android 9 OS with Google Playstore pre-installed. It supports streaming and several other music and media application available on the Android Play Store straight out of the box. For a smooth, lag-free user interface, Cayin has equipped the N8ii with Qualcomm’s octa-core snapdragon 660 SoC chip and 6GB of RAM. It also has 128GB of internal storage(along with a microSD card slot). Apart from all-these Cayin has featured several other features such as Bluetooth connectivity, dual-band WiFi, High-power gain mode, and more.
